The Nano 2.
0 is constructed of glass with a magnetized screw in the center that the ferrofluid naturally spins around.
Comes with a magnet.
The magnetic top is sealed shut and stores the magnet when no longer in use.
Ferrofluid is a magnetic liquid that spikes in the presence of a magnetic field.
This display is small, but lots of fun.
The volume of the bottle is about 15 ml.

What makes the ferrofluid attracted to the thread of the screw only? It”s the way the magnetic field permeates the screw.
The ferrofluid goes to the areas of highest flux density and edges tend to ”focus” the magnetic field.
Why does the ferrofluid spike? The spiking is the result of a few different forces competing with each-other.
On a fundamental level these would be the van der Waals force (attractive/repulsive forces between molecules), gravity and the magnetic force.
In this case, the first two forces (van der Waals and gravity) manifest themselves as surface tension and play a very big role in how the ferrofluid spikes.
Why Ferrofluid Spikes The spiking is the result of a few different forces competing with each-other.

Ferrofluid Spins Around Screw The ferrofluid will conform to the magnetic field of the screw and naturally spin up and down when a force acts upon it.

Why Ferrofluid Spikes We are attracting the magnetic nanoparticles with the magnetic field and this creates an uneven distribution of particles, or gradient, within the ferrofluid.

Thought provoking funHow did you come up with the idea for this product?A very popular demonstration of ferrofluid uses a magnetized bolt in an open dish.
I noticed how cool this was and wanted to capture it inside of a bottle.
Ferrofluid in an open dish can be insanely messy and has to be thrown out once your done.
So putting it in a bottle is the perfect solution.
What makes your product special?There a few things.
The magnetized screw is the most obvious.
We also have a superior blend of high quality ferrofluid and suspension liquid.
This is important because it ensures that the ferrofluid doesn”t stain or quickly breakdown.
We have been optimizing this formula for years using our founder”s background in chemistry and nanotechnology along with rigorous testing.
