Camassia leichtlinii is often referred to as Camassia Quamash, a native American name. It produces linear strap-shaped leaves and star shaped flowers that rise above a foliage clump. Best planted in groups of 12 or more. May be planted just about anywhere including the edge of a water garden or pond. Best left undisturbed once located. This species blooms blue with yellow anthers. Plant in well draining soil. After planting, water well to settle the bulbs. For an informal look, plant in groups in natural swathes. They are very tolerant and forgiving of imperfect conditions.
