Kanthal wire does not rust or oxidize easily, and is very resistant to corrosive elements. Compared to Nichrome, kanthal wire has a higher maximum operating temperature of 1400°C, and higher resistivity. Kanthal wire can last up to 4 times longer than Nichrome because of its superior ability to resist oxidation, making it one of the most popular coil building materials on the market.
