PRODUCT INFORMATION Hydrosol Name: Lavender Hydrosol Botanical Name: Lavender angustofolia MSDS / CoA Hydrosols are different than essential oils. A hydrosol (floral water) is the by-product of the essential oils distillation process. When essential oils are extracted from the plant materials, the “leftover” water from the steaming process is collected and put to use. Once thought of as waste, hydrosols contain all the therapeutic properties of essential oils, just at a lower concentration. Essential oils can become too strong and overly potent without proper dilution, but hydrosols are safe and ready to use. They can be sprayed into the air, applied directly to the skin, and used in the home. Floral water, aromatic water, hydrolats and hydroflorates are all terms used to describe hydrosols. Lavender Hydrosol has a pleasant, welcoming smell and is often used in place of cleaning products in the home. With it’s anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, it can be used to safely clean many surfaces and deodorize any space. Direct application to the skin is helpful for reducing acne, soothing achy muscles, and disinfecting wounds. As a toner it works to rejuvenate damaged and fragile skin. It is often used as a hair rinse or leave-in spray to smooth frizz and add shine. Inhalation eases stress and reduces mental fatigue.
