Sedum morganianum is a lush, hanging succulent covered with close-set, pudgy, mint green leaves. Common names include donkey tail and burro’s tail, with the “tails” reaching up to 24 inches in length. The plant branches nicely, forming multiple stems that will tumble over the edge of a hanging planter or trail over the side of a seated pot. Sedum morganganianum is as easy to grow as it is to love. Always provide fast-draining succulent soil and a pot with good drainage. Water when the soil is dry or the pudgy leaves begun to wrinkle. Donkey tail succulents grow best in partial sun outdoors or bright light indoors. The biggest challenge with burros tail is that the leaves can pop off if you are not gentle as you handle the plant. The good news is that each dropped leaf can be propagated to become a whole new Sedum morganianum plant!
